Sample Pack
What a Sample Pack in Flexible Packaging Means
A sample pack in flexible packaging refers to a small-scale version of the intended packaging product, created for testing or demonstration purposes before proceeding with full production. These samples serve several important functions:
- Prototype testing: They allow manufacturers and clients to assess the design, functionality, and appearance of the packaging.
- Quality control: Sample packs help prevent full production until the client approves the product, ensuring satisfaction and reducing waste.
- Customization: They offer you a chance to try different choices and make adjustments before you have to place a big order.
- Marketing: Sample packs can be great ways to exhibit merchandise to prospective clients.

Sample Pack Types
Flexible Packaging For Sample Packs Flexible packaging used in a sample pack will generally be made with the same or at least similar materials as those that the final product will be packaged in. These are the materials that were selected due to their flexibility, customizability, and ease to be manipulated. Common types include:
- Roll Stock: This refers to all types of plastic films like polyethylene, polypropylene or polyester
- Pouches: Different materials combined together for specific properties.
The exact composition depends on the intended use and requirements of the packaging. Sample packs are designed to be:
- Easy to manipulate and combine into innovative styles
- Heat-sealable for secure closure
- Pre-formed for convenient in-house filling and sealing
Types of Sample Packs
There are generally two types of sample packs in flexible packaging:
- Pre-production samples: These are initial prototypes used for design approval and testing.
- Factory samples: These are virtually identical to full production orders and are used for final approval before mass production.
The sizes of sample packs will differ according to the product and packaging, such as pouches, sachets or stick packs.
In conclusion, sample packs play a crucial role in the flexible packaging industry, allowing for thorough testing and customization before full-scale production. They are made with materials and processes that closely mimic the final product, ensuring accurate representation and evaluation of the packaging solution.
